  • Historians have discovered this Tarot on the Larousse monthly of 1919.

It’s the first Tarot «de Marseille» known to date.

As the picture of this deck was made from an engraved cutting boards, we have no information about the colours of this tarot.

Still today, we didn’t find any antique copy of this deck so I had to make my own theory to reconstruct its colours.

To restaure the colours, I mainly got my inspiration from the Philippe Vachier of 1639 and I also inspired myself from the Jean Payen’s tarot deck of 1743, from the Jean Dodal’s, from the Guillaume Dubesset’s, from the Jean-Pierre Payen of 1713 and also from the Charles Cheminade’s tarot.

As the Larousse published only 22 trumps and 13 minor arcanas, this deck is incomplete for the moment.

Today, we don’t know if the engraved cutting boards still exist.

This edition is limited to 50 copies made in 2023 by Florent Giraud in Aix en Provence.
